This 18-year-old Vaillant Ecotec boiler had never been fully stripped down and cleaned.
The photos show the difference part-way through cleaning the heat exchanger. Years of accumulated dirt and deposits were restricting the heat exchanger and affecting its performance.
After carefully brushing out the heat exchanger, we then power-washed it thoroughly to remove the remaining debris.
The result is a much cleaner heat exchanger, allowing the boiler to transfer heat more effectively and operate as it was designed to.
